ABOUT
A clarity-focused transformation that aligned diverse market participants, reduced complexity across the ecosystem, and enabled a more transparent, trusted and scalable trading experience for renewable energy in the UK.
CONTEXT
National Grid ESO manages the country's electricity grid, ensuring energy availability and supporting the UK's zero carbon targets.
To fully support the shift toward renewable energy, they needed to modernise their national energy trading platform.
CHALLENGE
How can NGESO reimagine the trading platform to support all traders and promote a greener energy mix?
SOLUTION
The aim of the engagement was to help NGESO organise discussions, engage current and new players in the energy sector and mitigate risks in the creation of a new UK-wide trading platform.
I led a strategic initiative that engaged more than 30 ecosystem stakeholders, to discuss and balance complex and diverse needs between incumbents and new flexible traders. A prototype was shaped and became NGESO's preferred communication tool at all organisational levels.
This prototype evolved into a full product, supporting energy trading in the UK since November 2023.

By simplifying complexity and creating shared visibility across the ecosystem, the programme enabled faster alignment, reduced operational risk and strengthened confidence among traders — demonstrating how clarity and structured collaboration drive adoption and long-term value in high-stakes digital services.
